Training Part I

Hello, World!

Today’s blog post is about training your pup part I.

This includes the following –

  • Teaching your dog to sit and stay.
  • Teaching your dog to lay

Simples, right?

These are just the simple instructions that every dog needs to know!

Lets begin…

Sitting

Estimated Time – 10 – 15 minutes

Equipment needed – A favourite thing like for example a ball, a treat.

Place – Anywhere

Instructions –

  1. Grab a treat and break it into a few pieces. Show your dog that you have got a treat. Say “Sit” and point the treat at the back of his bottom. If he sits give him the treat and really pay attention keep on saying “Sit Good boy sit”.
  2. Try again and again and then give him a break. Try again later without any actions or treats. Don’t expect your dog to do this straight away give him time and be patient.

    Laying

Estimated Time – 10-15 minutes

Equipment needed -A favourite thing like for example a ball, a treat.

Place – Anywhere

Instructions –

  1. Grab a treat and break it into a few pieces. Show your dog that you have got a treat. Say “Sit” and point at his bottom like before. Give him praise and then continue, while he is sitting put the treat into two fingers run the treat in front of his nose all the way down to his paws. He then should lay down after a few tries!
  2. Try again and again and then give him a break. Try again later without any actions or treats. Don’t expect your dog to do this straight away give him time and be patient.
